Original Green Lantern Alan Scott comes out as homosexual in upcoming issue of "Earth 2".

When DC Comics teased last week that, “One of the major iconic DC characters will reveal that he is gay in a storyline in June,” rumors started popping up across the internet that Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott would be the character to come out. Today, DC Comics has confirmed that the newly reintroduced Alan Scott's is indeed the newest superhero to join the ranks of other homosexual comic book characters. The story of Alan Scott and his sexual orientation will be told in the pages of the upcoming "Earth 2" Issue #2 by James Robinson and Nicola Scott. It should be noted that while the superhero was first introduced in 1940, Alan Scott along with several other comic book characters in the mainstay DC Comics are being introduced as part of "The New 52", DC's reboot and revamp of the entire fictional universe which started last year and now they're rebooting Earth 2 for a new audience of comic book readers.

 Marvel's Same-Sex Union under fire by...mothers!

Over the past couple of years in comics, there has been an emergence of homosexuality with the creation of many new homosexual characters. But no other comic book company has been more progressive and more prominent in the media than Marvel Comics when it comes to the topic of LGBT issues. With the upcoming wedding of Northstar and his longtime boyfriend Kyle Jinaduin Astonishing X-Men #51, this comic looks to be the most talked comic in recent history. But some people are not exactly thrilled by this and one group is making a stance against the union. One Million Moms, a Christian family advocacy group, has issued a statement on their website condemning the publication of this wedding:

We at CodeNamed:EPIC want to know what do you think of all this so please write in the comments below.

Amazing and Ultimate Spider-Man Crossover Incoming!

by Flamethrower21

No true believers, you're not seeing things. The title of this article is correct as Marvel has just announced this morning that the original Steve Ditko/Stan Lee Amazing Spider-Man will meet with Brian Michael Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man in a will meet in a five-part series by the same Ultimate creative team that spawned Miles Morales. This is exciting news since after years of speculation and  fake outs ala Marvel Zombies, Marvel has finally decided to let their two most popular fictional realities clash, but must ask, what kind of event or threat could be big enough to bring Peter Parker and Miles Morales together? For more information about this cross over and an interview with Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso, click the link below.

Avengers Theme Song Second Verse Revealed

Joshua Fine(), supervising producer of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, sent me via Twitter (@Flamethrower21) the missing second verse to the theme song "Fight as One" by Bad City. While many fans of the show have been clamoring for an iTunes release of the theme song, Fine replied to a fan's tweet regarding this issue, "Unfortunately no. There were plans a while back to release the full version of the song (which has a 2nd verse.)" The very notion that a 2nd verse did exist, made me curious about the lyrics. So I asked Fine for the lyrics but he also gave out  the intentions for the 2nd verse. The 2nd verse was meant to describe the Avengers Black Panther, Wasp, Ant-Man, Hawkeye just as the 1st verse were related to Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America essentially, uniting the team in one theme song. But what I and many fans have noticed is that in the most recent episodes of  Avengers: EMH, the theme song has been drastically cut short in favor of a voice-over (by Nick Fury?) about the 4 main Avengers who just so happen to be in Marvel's upcoming summer blockbuster , "The Avengers".

So without further ado, here's the 2nd verse:

"Too small to turn the tide
too stubborn to give in
pushed by pain and pride
to face these fears and win
There's no one left to trust
it all comes down to us.
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! "
(Chorus)

SO what do you guys think?

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Sequel To Film In January

To avoid a conflict with Jennifer Lawrence's Hunger Games sequel,Catching Fire, Fox has decided to push back filming of the next X-Men movie til January.

A source has informed The Hollywood Reporter that Fox has given talent agencies a heads up that filming of the X-Men: First Class sequel will begin in January. This makes sense as Jennifer Lawrence is attached to theHunger Games franchise and filming for that sequel was expected to conflict. Now, Lionsgate can begin filmingCatching Fire in August and avoid any issues with Fox's X-Men

Over the past couple weeks it was reported that there had been tension between the two studios as both were fighting over the services of Jennifer Lawrence, who co-stars as Mystique in X-Men and stars as Katniss Everdeen in Hunger Games. Both films have done very well at the box office and sequels were never in doubt. The only issue was which sequel would get out of the gates first.

Hunger Games isn't out of the woods just yet, as they still have to resolve who will be directing the sequelCatching Fire. Director of the first film, Gary Ross, has been reported to be battling with Lionsgate for a bigger payout after Hunger Games became a smash hit. Sources for The Hollywood Reporter expect Ross to settle the dispute and be at the helm for the second film.
